These aren't so much rants as they are updates?  I am incapable of writing anything small.  Or finishing anything apparently.  *sigh*   People who signed up for a meme drabble I swear I haven't forgotten about you, I've just gotten way distracted by my works-in-progress.  At this point I'm not even sure what fics are going to be for bandombigbang  and what's not.

G (thanks Frank!) needs to feel better so that My Chem can actually make it to Japan before I leave in the summer.  That sounds horrible.  G also needs to feel better because, ya know, having vocal chord problems sucks, especially when you're a singer for a rock and roll band. ... also I'm curious about this album.  I'm hoping its more in a 'Bullets' vein, but that's just me...

Four day weekend coming up!  Hope to get lots of writing done. :-)

I have no idea what's up with Pete Wentz and his emo ways.  I know he freaked out a lot of his fans last night (2 nights ago? Timezones, I curse you!!)

Honestly I had no idea I had this many Fall Out Boy pictures saved on my harddrive.  (and its not even all of them.  whoa.)

So, its come to my attention that some people don't know who Bad Religion is. 

This is not old news... despite being around for something like 30 years, the band hasn't had a ton of commercial success (I'm pretty sure only 1 out of their 14 studio albums has even made it to gold status) and they've only broken the Billboard Top 20 like, once.  I have no good explanation for this, except that people are dumb?

Anyways, here's a quick rundown of one of my favourite bands of all times and a few links to prove why you should listen to them.  Downloads are available upon request ( I own 13 of their 14 albums and would quite happily bombard you with all my favourite songs but 1. I don't think megaupload has enough space for this and 2. I'd really love for you to spend your money and buy their songs.  The band deserves support... even if one of their members owns a record label and thus is a bajillionaire. )

(Note, this is seriously just for music purposes, not for fic purposes, I don't know nearly enough about them for that.)

LOL so in the process of making art for ladyfoxxx I stumbled upon "pete wentz sex tape goodnight moon".  Apparently Pete was in an artsy type film a few years ago?  Guys, I don't even know.  I found the movie on VEOH, its like, 10 minutes long and it's very WTF.   Horrible quality and god Pete cannot act, but that's OK.  There's a pretty hot sex scene. 

EDIT: The best I can figure the plot is that it appears Pete and his girl have broken into a house and had sex and stuff, while the owner is tied up in a chair.  The girl sends Pete off to the liquor store... turns out its her house and her dad molested her as a kid and she's getting revenge by shooting him, but setting it up to look like Pete broke in and raped her/killed her dad... IDK, I think that's how it goes.  Took me like, multiple viewings to get it.  Too much of it was WTF for me to process.

You know I figured that I'd drive myself crazy trying to write these all at once, I just didn't realize how crazy. I have those meme drabbles I'm writing when the big fics just don't feel like working, but then THOSE drive me crazy too. (and one led to me joining au_bigbang ... damn you ladyfoxxx )

All right, so. Empire Records AU has been signed up for, for Wave 1 of bandombigbang. That's only 10K, and I'll be in Australia with pikasafire from March 20-March 31, which means I need to have the story completely done by March 15, but that's OK. I'm pretty positive I can do it. And if it stretches to 20K, I can always just move it to Wave 2.

Now the real reason I'm insane, is because I ALREADY signed up for Wave 2. Yup, that's right, I'm writing TWO bandombigbang. solar_cat and I have started to plan/cast/plot a DragonRiders of Pern AU. Which has quickly become massive, and will actually end up two stories. Maybe more, considering the size of the source material we have to work with. Our planning has already reached over 5K words. I'm not particularly worried about hitting 20K between the two of us by April 30.

I am slightly amazed at HOW MUCH random plot points and information I remember about Dragonflight though. I haven't read that book in ages, all my books are back in the US and yet I'm pretty sure I recall the story in fairly good detail. Pretty, pretty cool.

Well, at least I won't be bored anytime soon. If I start complaining about being bored or having nothing to do (especially considering I still have grad applications to finish) someone hit me, OK?

I'm going to do it.   I've talked myself into it, now I just have to decide if I want to shoot for 10K or 20K.  I'm going to start writing and see how it flows.  The most I've ever hit on one story is 13K, but I've gotten there with series, soo.... *shrug* we will see.

Author's Notes: right.  So, this is set in the cultverse that queenofhell  created.  I'd recommend reading It's Like the Pied Piper (Only It's a Little Bit More Like a Cult) and maybe Skeptics and True Believers by joker_and_thief  before this, but all you really need to know is that Pete Wentz is a cult leader with a message and it's not an AU (thought obviously it's not real)
And yeah, I was reading Skeptics and mentioned on twitter how I suddenly wanted Mike/Kevin cultverse and zeenell  was all "DO IT", and it's 3am so I did.  blame her.

Author's Notes: this is for dancinbutterfly who wrote the awesome story Screw Angels, This Bell's Ringing in Wings for Me.  This is Patrick and Rihanna's story, from that story.  It'll still make sense without that story (except maybe the first scene, which is set a year after that one), but you should read hers, because OMG AMAZING.  I also made her a fanmix and fanart.  That story is that amazing.
Summary: Jay-Z and Pete like to argue about who's responsible for hooking Patrick and Rihanna up.  Really, it wasn't either of them.
